Don’t miss these epic experiences in Banff
Banff is a national treasure and Canada's very first national park, which we think is pretty cool. Whether you’re driving from further out, or picking up a Calgary RV rental - experience the best of what Banff National Park has to offer with these five epic attractions which should be at the top of everyone’s itinerary. We promise you’ll leave Banff a happy camper.
Columbia Icefield Skywalk
Now, this is an adventure. Don’t be scared… just take a deep breath of that crisp mountain air and walk slowly out onto the glass, U-shaped bridge where you’ll have the opportunity to take in 360 degree views of icy mountainscapes. This icefield lies in the Northwestern tip of Banff National Park. Take your time, and absorb everything this pristine region is showing you.
Inkpots Hike
Take a hike, quite literally… because in Banff National Park, scenic trails are plenty. Start with hiking the lesser known Inkpots, it’s a spectacular walk, not too difficult and incredibly beautiful. The hike starts on the Johnston Canyon trail and then as you continue to wander past the other hikes that branch off you’ll go down another less popular trail which will lead you straight to the Inkpots! Five, unspoilt aquamarine pools which will take your breath away. It will take you around 3-4 hours to do the return hike.
Waterfowl Lakes
Yes, we all know about Lake Louise and Lake Moraine but have you heard about the Waterfowl Lakes? This part of Canada is famous for scenic lakes, and these are slightly more off the beaten path and come complete with azure blue waters and towering Mount Chephren views. You would be a fool to not stop here for those picture perfect moments. Because it’s slightly lesser known, you may even have the place to yourself, depending on when you choose to visit.

If soaking your bones in steaming mineral pools while gazing out onto clear mountain views sounds like your cup of tea then add the Banff Upper Hot Springs to your list. Picture perfect views while relaxing your muscles sounds like the perfect way to unwind after a day of adventure in Banff National Park.
Icefields Parkway
The Icefields Parkway is no doubt one of the best drives in all of Canada. Surrounded by towering mountains on both sides, hugged by rivers and lakes, and boasting incredible scenic views, it’s totally worth driving along for a day or two. Needing more? Why not do a full Calgary itinerary and explore even further.
Banff is one of the most visually stunning places in Canada and there is no better way to experience it than in your very own home on wheels. Pick up your Canada motorhome rental and start exploring this incredible park.

Exploring by motorhome is my favourite way to immerse myself in a different place/culture. My favourite so far? The Southern States of the USA - epic food, amazing people and the most beautiful scenery. I could go on about that trip forever!
