A Getaway for the Lovebirds
February the 14th is just around the corner, and while we know it's more of a Hallmark-created holiday it's actually a great excuse to put some effort into your romantic relationship, whether it's 20 days or 20 years old. This year why not use Valentine’s Day as a reason for a romantic getaway? A motorhome holiday together through any of Australia's beauty spots is the perfect way to escape the pressures of the daily grind, work and family commitments while you cosy up in your home on wheels and enjoy Australia's finest. Here are some destination suggestions for a break with your special someone.
Queensland
Queensland is an ideal destination for a romantic getaway in a motorhome — endless sunshine, golden sand and pristine beaches, subtropical rainforests, charming country towns and thriving wine regions are all perfect for connecting, or re-connecting, with your partner. There are plenty of romantic destinations —from coastal spots such as Noosa and Palm Cove, to the exquisite rainforests of Daintree, there's something to suit every kind of couple. You can stroll hand in hand down waterfront boardwalks, enjoy romantic dinners for two, indulge in some wine tastings at cellar doors or take sunset boat cruises or hot air balloon rides. There's nothing like balmy nights minus life's usual distractions to make you feel all romantic.
Tasmania
Tasmania's varied terrain - all of it beautiful - makes it the ideal spot for a romantic getaway for two in a campervan. From mountains, to sea, to local wildlife, to ridiculously delicious artisan produce and viticulture, your valentine's weekend will be full of fun and romance. Hobart is the perfect place to start, and depending on your interests you can head on to Launceston (heritage estates, and amazing outdoor activities; the East Coast (coastline that will blow your mind) or the West Coast (fascinating national parks and historic towns).
Victoria
Where do we even start with gorgeous Victoria? There are mountains to climb, forests to lose yourself in, surf beaches to swim and relax on, winding country roads to explore and plenty of great food and wine along the way. Why not whisk your partner away on a trip on the Great Ocean Road or Great Alpine Road in a motorhome? Surely you have to win huge brownie points for that one?
So get thinking and get booking to make this year a Valentine’s day to remember.

There's nothing better than a road trip. While I love flying to different cities you never get the same experience as you do when you're driving. That fruit stall with the huge red strawberries, the local gallery you never knew existed, the deserted white-sand beach you only saw because the man at the cafe told you it's just down the road. Wheels give you freedom to discover and explore and be absorbed by all the treasures a region has to offer.
